Dehradun, 8 Nov: The President and officials of the Gorkhali Sudhar Sabha met Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi and expressed their gratitude for the issue of a postage stamp on Shaheed Durgamal.
On 25 August, the 78th Tribute Day programme of Shaheed Durgamal was held in Garhi Cantt by the Uttarakhand State Nepali Language Committee at Shaheed Durgamal Park, which was attended by Cabinet Minister Joshi as the Chief Guest. The request on the issue of the stamp was made at that time.
With the issue of a postage stamp in the name of Shaheed Durgamal, his family is also very happy. Durgamal had made the supreme sacrifice by joining the Azad Hind Fauj for the independence of India. Rejecting all the temptations from the British government, he had put the love of his country first. Minister Joshi also expressed gratitude to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. He said that the double engine government is continuously striving for the honour and welfare of the soldiers.
