Dehradun, 13 Nov: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) launched the “School Radio Podcast” at the Raj Bhavan, here, today. The programme, organised in collaboration with OHO Radio and Dettol, aims to promote environmental conservation. As part of this initiative, every Sunday, schoolchildren will be invited to speak on the radio, where they will spread messages about the importance of environmental protection through dialogue.
On the occasion of the launch, the Governor stated that this initiative will foster a sense of responsibility towards the environment in children from an early age, helping them understand the significance of conserving nature and its resources. “This initiative is not just a radio programme; it is a people’s movement that will sensitise our children to nature and make them conscious and dedicated to environmental conservation,” he said.
The Governor further emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always considered environmental protection a top priority. He highlighted the Mission LiFE initiative, known as Lifestyle for Environment, which encourages all to make small changes in their daily lives that will contribute to protecting the environment.
Expressing confidence that the campaign will successfully achieve its objectives, the Governor stated that it will strengthen the spirit of environmental conservation in society. He urged everyone to be inspired by this initiative and pledge to fulfil their responsibilities toward the environment, ensuring that future generations inherit a clean, green, and safe environment.
The Governor also appealed to the children, teachers, and parents to actively participate in spreading the message of environmental protection to every corner of society. He congratulated Dettol and OHO Radio for their significant contribution in launching this campaign.
On this occasion, RJ Kavya from OHO Radio gave a detailed briefing about the campaign. The event was attended by Ravi Bhatnagar, Director of External Affairs and Partnerships, SoA, Reckitt, Monica Solanki, CEO of OHO Radio, Dr Komal Goswami, Lalit Joshi, along with children from various schools and other dignitaries.
