Gov pays homage at Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib

Chamoli, 9 Oct: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) visited the holy site of Shri Hemkund Sahib in Chamoli on Wednesday. He paid his respects and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the state.

Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Narendra Jeet Singh Bindra, President of the Hemkund Sahib Management Trust, Gurudwara Manager Seva Singh, and district administration officials. The Governor extended best wishes to all pilgrims visiting Hemkund and reflected on the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.

He praised the infrastructure development in Hemkund, stating that the footpaths and helipad have significantly improved facilities for pilgrims. The Governor also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating the construction of a ropeway, which will enhance the pilgrimage experience to Hemkund in the future.

Present at the event were various officials, including Police Superintendent Sarvesh Pawar, Chief Development Officer Nandan Kumar, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chandra Shekhar Vashistha.
