DEHRADUN, 24 Sept: Governor Lt-General Gurmit Singh (Retd) inaugurated Red FM’s “GoGreen Expo” exhibition at ONGC’s Dr BR Ambedkar Stadium, on Saturday. He also honoured those working in the field of green energy on behalf of Red FM.
Lt-General Singh said that Devbhoomi is an eco-rich state. It is our moral duty to take responsibility for environmental protection. Uttarakhand will have to become the brand ambassador of environment protection while leading the country and the world in the direction of environmental protection. We have to start a change and a mass movement. There is a need to give a message to the whole world from Uttarakhand that we have to save our nature and environment, he asserted. He appreciated Red FM’s ‘Go Green’ expo program and described it as a new beginning. He also stressed that we need to focus on alternative sources of energy so that we can leave a better environment and better future for the coming generation.
ONGC Director (Offshore) Pankaj Kumar said that the future is of renewable energy. He said he witnessed the changing phase of Dehradun because of ONGC. Kumar pointed out that the Dehradun city needs correction. He appealed to all the stakeholders to work for the preservation of mother nature.
RJ Akhil, RJ Gaurav and RJ Atishay also encouraged people through their own style on the occasion. After that there was a magnificent performance by a band and dance group of UPES. Red FM Go Green will be held till 25th September. A lot of people came to the expo to be the part of the future and tried many advance EVs and green devices.
Zonal Manager of Punjab National Bank Sanjaya Kandpal and Garhwal Post owner & Actor Satish Sharma visited all stalls at the exhibition.
Fashion designers, Niharika and Saurabh put up a stall ‘Swarnsutram’, threads of luxury. People were keen to buy scarves, stoles, etc., from their stall.
Director, Ather Automobiles, Navpreet Singh, IOCL Divisional Regional Head Prabhat Kumar Verma, Red FM Station Head Rajat Shakti, Program Head Himanshu Sharma and many others were present.
