Dehradun, 21 Oct: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) inaugurated “Project UPSC”, conducted by Pawan Chintan Dhara Ashram, at the Raj Bhawan here on Monday. The event was attended by Professor Pawan Sinha “Guruji”, members of the project, and many college students.

During the event, the Governor emphasised the immense talent of Uttarakhand’s youth, especially among girls, and stated that this project would be instrumental in helping them achieve their dreams despite resource constraints. He noted that the project prioritises girls, enabling them to prepare for civil services and excel in this field. He encouraged students to pursue their goals with discipline, self-confidence, and determination.

Lt Gen Singh mentioned that many talented children in the state need guidance to shape their dreams. He expressed happiness over the initiative taken by the organisation to advance Uttarakhand’s youth in the important field of civil services and thanked them for their efforts. He urged students to recognise that they are the future of India, the “Amrit Kal” generation, which will help India achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation.

Professor Pawan Sinha explained that the project aims to assist economically disadvantaged children in preparing for civil service exams. Free online and offline coaching will be provided by experienced teachers and former civil servants, covering exam preparation, time management, lifestyle improvement, and personality development. Additionally, counselling sessions will be organised to address students’ queries.

Students interested in “Project UPSC” can register by contacting upsc@ashrampcd.com or calling 8882918694. Following registration, an entrance exam and interview will be conducted to select candidates. The goal is to ensure that economically weaker students also have opportunities in civil services, and that poverty does not hinder their careers. Over 450 children are currently receiving free coaching under this project.

Joint Magistrate Ashish Mishra provided civil service preparation tips to the students, advising them to give their best, learn from the experiences of successful candidates, and maintain a positive mindset from day one.

The programme was attended by various dignitaries, including Secretary to the Governor Ravinath Raman, Additional Secretary Swati S Bhadauria, and Vice-Chancellors from several universities.
