Mussoorie, 21 Oct: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi attended a ceremony organised by the Mussoorie Pratap Nagar Jan Kalyan Samiti at a private hotel here, today, to honour the father-son duo who set a swimming record in Tehri Lake.

The minister acknowledged Trilok Singh Rawat, the president of the Pratap Nagar BJP Mandal, along with his sons Rishabh and Paaras Rawat, residents of Motna village.

During the event, committee officials requested the minister to recommend state-level honours for the record-setting family on State Foundation Day. Ganesh Joshi assured that the state government would recognise their achievement with a state-level award and provide swimming training for the talented youths, Rishabh and Paaras Rawat. He praised their remarkable courage in completing the journey of approximately 18 kilometres without life jackets, which took nearly nine hours.

The minister noted the immense tourism potential in Uttarakhand and emphasised the government’s efforts to develop the state as a tourism hub, including areas around Tehri. He also addressed the concerns of local residents.

Trilok Rawat (52) and his sons, Rishabh (23) and Paaras (18), made history by swimming from Koti Colony to Chham in Tehri Lake without life jackets.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including MLA Vikram Singh Negi, former MLA Jot Singh Gunsola, and other local leaders.
