Dhami Govt to organise Multipurpose Service Camps on its 3rd anniversary

Dehradun, 19 Mar: On the occasion of the Dhami Government’s third anniversary, multipurpose and medical camps will be organised in all the districts from 22 to 25 March. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed officials to organise various programmes across the state from 22 to 25 March mark the completion of three years of the current government. Emphasising public participation, he directed that 23 March be observed as ‘Sewa Diwas’. He also called for the holding of multipurpose camps at the block level, health camps, and distribution of essential health-related equipment to the needy while ensuring that beneficiaries receive the advantages of various government schemes. Elected representatives should also be involved in public welfare initiatives.

The CM, currently in Delhi, stated that his thoughts remain dedicated to the state’s progress. He emphasised that people from all sections of society should be engaged in these programmes, and success stories of individuals making significant contributions in different fields should be shared widely.

Highlighting key achievements over the last three years, Dhami noted that several landmark decisions have been made in alignment with public aspirations. The Chief Minister also directed officials to take concrete steps to conserve natural water sources, including the revival of traditional water structures such as ‘Chal-Khal,’ wells, seasonal streams and other natural water bodies. In light of the coming summer, he instructed departments to ensure an adequate supply of drinking water across the state.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary Justice Pradeep Pant, Principal Secretaries L Fanai and R Meenakshi Sundaram, DGP Deepam Seth, various secretaries, department heads, and district magistrates. Additionally, Vice-Chairperson of the State Disaster Management Authority Vinay Rohila and Principal Secretaries RK Sudhanshu and Ajay Mishra joined virtually.

In this regard, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has emphasised the theme of public service. Raturi has instructed all District Magistrates to ensure the successful organisation of these multipurpose public camps.

The main programme will be held in Almora on 22 March, followed by Dehradun district on 23 March. Additionally, similar camps will be held in all districts on 23 March. The minister in charge of each district will preside over the programmes at the district headquarters. In cases where the designated ministers are unavailable, Members of Parliament (MPs) will preside over these camps. The Chief Secretary further directed that the multipurpose camps provide information regarding services available to the public and schemes run by various departments. In the medical camps, free health checkups and medicines will be offered to attendees.

From 24 to 30 March, multipurpose and medical camps will also be conducted at assembly and block levels, continuing the public service theme. These camps will also see the participation of MPs and MLAs. The Chief Secretary directed that District Magistrates take independent decisions to ensure the success of these programmes.
