DEHRADUN, 1 May: Graphic Era today distributed 5400 kg of food grains, pulses, oil, etc., as part of the government’s campaign to not let anyone go hungry during the lockdown. As part of this, 2400 kg of food grains were handed over to the district administration for distribution among poor families.
Rakhi Ghanshala, Senior Member, Board of Management, Graphic Era, handed over at the Graphic Era Deemed University Campus, 200 packets of flour, pulses, rice, oil, spices, sugar, etc., to a team of the district administration. These packets are designed keeping in mind the needs of a family for about 10 days. Along with this, Rakhi Ghanshala handed over 250 packets prepared from 3000 kg food grains to MLA Ganesh Joshi for distribution in Mussoorie area.
On this occasion, Ghanshala said that to make the lockdown successful, it was absolutely necessary to make food grains available to the workers to ensure they stay at home. Graphic Era has so far distributed 24,149 kg of food grains, pulses, rice, oil, spices, salt, sugar, tea leaves, etc., and management intends to continue with this. Along with this, work on making and distributing special masks for the Corona Warriors at Graphic Era Hill University is also going on. Sanitiser and face shields have also been made available to Corona Warriors.
She said that in order to not let a single day go waste due to the lockdown for any student of Graphic Era Deemed University and Graphic Era Hill University, faculties were working day and night from their homes and taking online classes.
