Dehradun, 20 Nov: Graphic Era University organised a seminar on “Dynamics of oil and gas – the elixir of life”.
While addressing the gathering, Padma Shri awardee Dr Rabi Bastia, the Chief Guest, emphasised on the present and future prospects in the field of oil and natural gas. He talked about the growth in the petroleum industry and also highlighted the sources of sustainable energy.
Dr Bastia also shared his views on “oil energy is coming to an end” and also elaborated on the alternative energy resources. He added that research on alternative resources was ongoing and soon there would be ample alternatives to petroleum. He laid stress on oil below ice, Russian fold belt, Wilcox basin, etc., as alternatives and also talked about the career opportunities in the field of petroleum.
Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr HN Nagaraja thanked Dr Rabi Bastia and advised students to learn and implement from his speech. HOD, Petroleum and Engineering Department, Prof Dr Pradeep Joshi, HOD, Mechanical Engineering, Prof Dr Parvin Patil, Prof BS Bisht, Prof Anand Sahu, officials and students, were present on the occasion.
