Dehradun, 13 Aug: Patients battling blood cancer and undergoing bone marrow transplants will now receive even better care, thanks to a new specialised nursing training programme launched at Graphic Era Hospital. The aim is to prepare nurses with the skills needed to give accurate, safe, and compassionate care to patients facing these serious conditions.
This one-year programme is being run in collaboration with Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences and Graphic Era University, under the guidance of HOS, Clinical Haematology, Dr Jasjit Singh in the Department of Clinical Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant. Nurses will learn everything from chemotherapy protocols and bone marrow transplant centre management to palliative care, bone marrow aspiration, lumbar puncture, PICC line, and central line procedures. They will also get practical training in pathology, sample collection, and critical care.
On completing the course, participants will receive a fellowship certificate jointly from Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences and Graphic Era University. This initiative will not only upgrade nurses’ technical skills but also ensure that patients get more confident, precise, and caring treatment during their most challenging times.
