MUSSOORIE, 16 Dec: Asian Games gold medallist steeplechase winner, the iconic Sudha Singh shall be in Mussoorie on the 24th of December 2022, to flag off the Happy Valley Mussoorie Marathon. This will commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Good Governance Day. The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration brings focus on the importance of physical fitness in active public life.
This marathon is in four categories: for veterans there is 5 kms, for government officials in civil 10 kms, for government officials in civil and army 21 kms and a total of forty-two kilometres. The run begins opposite the Academy gates and takes runners past Company Bagh, past the old Toll barrier and on to the Kimadi road from where they turn around retracing their steps to arrive at the finishing line.
Participation in sports is an excellent way for building inter-service camaraderie. What better way can there be to build team spirit than by participating in high endurance events. It gives the officer trainees a resoluteness of character as they step out in the service of the nation.
