High level review meeting today in Rishikesh to review preparations for Char Dham Yatra

Dehradun, 4 Apr: The Char Dham Yatra Management and Control Organisation is set to hold a crucial meeting tomorrow at the Yatra Transit Camp Auditorium in Rishikesh to review final preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. The meeting will be chaired by Garhwal Commissioner and President of Char Dham Yatra Management & Control Organisation, Vinay Shankar Pandey.

The Char Dham Yatra Management and Control Organisation has been recently established as a dedicated body to oversee the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of all aspects related to the Char Dham Yatra. It is expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, convenience, and smooth movement of pilgrims throughout the duration of the Yatra.

The meeting tomorrow is expected to finalise the strategy for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed authorities to ensure large-scale preparations, with over 12 lakh pilgrims already registered online for the four Dhams.

The meeting will focus on improving administrative arrangements and reviewing extensive preparations for the pilgrimage. A similar review meeting was previously held on 5 February.

According to AK Srivastava, Secretary, the Travel Management and Control Organisation, the meeting is expected to see participation of senior officials, including Special Executive Officer and Additional Commissioner, Garhwal, Uttam Singh Chauhan. All officials have been instructed to be present on time and to submit progress reports from the previous Yatra meeting.

BKTC media in-charge Harish Gaur has confirmed that key representatives from all departments linked to the Char Dham Yatra, including police, district administration, tourism, transport, health, power, communication, and temple committees, have been asked to participate in the meeting tomorrow.

It may be recalled that the Char Dham Yatra is set to commence on 30 April. The portals of Kedarnath will open on 2 May; the portals of Badrinath on 4 May; the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri will open on 30 April, which falls on Akshaya Tritiya. At the same time, the portals of the Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara are scheduled to open on 25 May.
