Dialogue on ‘National Unity and Hindi’ held at India’s 1st Lekhak Gaon

Thano, 14 Sep: On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, a special dialogue on “National Unity and Hindi” was organised at India’s first Lekhak Gaon, Thano. The event brought together eminent litterateurs, poets, and Hindi researchers.
The programme commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest, senior litterateur Dr Jayanti Prasad Nautiyal, Chairperson Prof Savita Mohan (former Director, Higher Education), and Vidushi Nishank, Vice President of Sparsh Himalaya University.
In his address, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Patron of Lekhak Gaon, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, and Union Minister of Education, Government of India, said, “Hindi is not just a language; it is a symbol of our cultural and social harmony. We must strengthen this language so that it can live in the hearts of every Indian and further reinforce national unity. Hindi Diwas, observed every year on 14 September, reminds us that Hindi is not merely a medium of communication but also the music of our soul.”
The Chief Guest, Dr Jayanti Prasad Nautiyal, remarked, “The Hindi language embodies the spirit of Indianness and conveys a message of unity. We must regard it not merely as a language but as a rich cultural heritage.”
Presiding over the programme, Prof Savita Mohan emphasised, “Hindi holds immense importance in both education and literature. It is the most powerful medium for expressing our thoughts, and it is our collective responsibility to strengthen it.”
The event also featured a poetry recitation session, in which noted poets expressed their love and dedication towards Hindi through their creative works.
Highlighting the significance of Hindi, the programme marked an important step towards deepening the spirit of national unity.
Several prominent figures from the literary world graced the occasion, including Mamta Gupta, Dr Kshama Kaushik, Monika Sharma, Rachna Sharma, Dr Nutan Smriti, Kavita Bisht, Manik Agarwal, Manmohan Saklani, Tanuja Singh, Dr Mukesh Nautiyal, Virendra Dangwal, Kusum Rawat, and Bina Benjwal.
