Dehradun, 29 Apr: Doon Talent Studio and National School of Theatre celebrated the First Annual Day – ‘Hridyotsav 2019’, here, on Sunday.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Savita Kapoor, Social Worker, and the Guest of Honour was Mona Kaul, renowned vocalist and instrumentalist. The show was organised by Acharya Anil Prakash, National School Theatre, and Suresh Chand Sharma, Doon Talent Studio. Among others present were Principal of Doon Sarla Academy, Anubha Sharma (DSA), RG Sharma and members of the RSS.
A district level Art Competition was organised for students from the age of 5 to 15 years. Students submitted their best work, with awards being handed out in several categories as cash prizes.
Doon Talent Studio students performed a classical dance to Saraswati Vandana, Tere Bina and Sur Ke Ghungroo. A solo Kathak performance by Ashima Sharma brought an exciting vibe in the auditorium. Two plays – ‘The Journey of Smoking’ and ‘Akal Badi Ya Bhains’ were staged by Acharya Anil Prakash, National School of Theatre. Sikandar Verma and his group won accolades with their freestyle dance.
This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony in which the Chief Guest gave away prizes to the achievers. The Best Kathak Dancer Award – Junior – 2018-2019 was bagged by Erika Rose Pinto and Best Kathak Dancer Award – Senior – 2018-2019 was bagged by Arti Chauhan.
