Huge boundaries of strategic importance are in hands of our brave naval soldiers: Governor Lt-General Singh

DEHRADUN, 4 Dec: Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) participated in ‘At Home’ program at National Hydrographic Office, today. First Lady Gurmit Kaur was also present on the occasion. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present on the occasion. Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) said that our country has long coastal boundaries. Between these huge waves of the sea, there are many small islands, which reveal the vastness of our country. The governor said that these huge boundaries of strategic importance are in the hands of our navy’s brave soldiers. He said that in the country’s economic and infrastructural development, the navy is playing a very important role. As an integral part of India’s vast army, our Navy is equipped with highly capable, modern and powerful military equipment. The Indian Navy is becoming advanced and prosperous in the field of information and technology according to today’s digital era. The Governor said that the stories of Indian Navy’s efficiency, capabilities and skillful skills, will inspire countless youngsters to serve the country with zeal and passion. Indian Navy is excellent in all activities. Lt-General Singh (Retd) further said that the experience of naval exservicemen can give special benefits to Industrial Development, Skill Development, Training Programs in the state. Their experiences gained during the service are important for the development of Uttarakhand state. The Governor said that the young men of Uttarakhand should make it their goal to choose a career in the Indian Army. Chief Hydrographer Vice Admiral Adhir Arora and his wife Tanvi Arora, many eminent retired Navy officers were present on the occasion which includes Vice Admiral (Retd) Vasant Koppikar, VAdm AG Thapliyal, former DG, Coast Guard, RAdm Girish Gupta, RAdm OPS Rana, former Director General, Naval Armament, Capt. Himanshu Dhulia (Retd), DG Police Uttarakhand, Ashok Kumar, GOC Sub Area, Maj-General Sanjeev Khatri amongst others.
