Dehradun, 29 Oct: Probationary IAS Officers of the 2018 batch belonging to the Uttarakhand cadre made a courtesy call on Governor Baby Rani Maurya on Tuesday at the Raj Bhawan, here.
Congratulating the trainee officers, Governor Maurya said that IAS officers of the Uttarakhand cadre were fortunate to have the opportunity to serve the Devbhoomi. Their role in overall development of the people of Uttarakhand would be very important. As district magistrates, heads of departments, and officials of the government they would have to implement various development schemes. She reminded them that Uttarakhand is a state with special geographical conditions. Officials should know the challenges and possibilities. The state is prone to natural calamities, but its splendorous beauty makes it among the top tourism destinations in the world. Providing employment to the youths and women of the state would ensure overall development. Girls’ education had to be given priority.
Secretary to the Governor Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu, Additional Secretary, Personnel, Atar Singh Chauhan, probationers Vishal Mishra, Apurn Pandey,Akanksha Verma, Prateek Jain, Anshul Singh and Manish Kumar were present on the occasion.
