Dehradun, 12 Aug: Him Jyoti School, Dehradun, hosted an event on the ‘Indian Knowledge System – A Chapter of Shashwat Bharat’, celebrating India’s rich civilisational heritage on 10 August.
The day featured three segments—Enactment, AV Presentation, and Debate—bringing alive the wisdom of ancient India.
Students enacted timeless stories like Krishna–Arjun Samvad, Shravan Kumar, Garud aur Kak, Kunti–Karan Samvad, and Abhiman ki Har. AV presentations explored themes including Vedic Mathematics, Indian Philosophy, Ancient Science & Technology, Dharma & Karma, and Arthashastra.
The debate encouraged thought-provoking discussions on whether ancient Indian civilisation was rooted in science or superstition.
In the Enactment section, the winner was Him Jyoti School, followed by The Montessori School and Mount Fort Academy, respectively. In the AV Presentation, Shree Goverdhan Saraswati Vidya Mandir came first, Mount Fort Academy, second, and The Montessori School, third.
In the Debate, the first prize went to The Montessori School, followed by The Oasis School and Mount Fort Academy, respectively.
The Chief Guest was Dr Geeta Khanna, Chairperson, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, while the judges were Gayati Devi, Dr Madhav Maithani, and Col Vivek Gupta. Founding trustees Dr AK Singh and Dr Kuldeep Dutta of the Him Jyoti School were also present. The event was attended by various luminaries including Hemant Arora, Maria Wirth, General Aswal, Col Vineet, Col Chhetri, Col Rawat, Mahesh Gupta, Gp Capt Rai, Wg Cdr Dobhal, Dr Rawat among many others.
This initiative aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, integrating the depth of Indian Knowledge Systems—spanning mathematics, philosophy, science, ethics, and governance—into modern education.
