Dehradun, 14 Jul: BJP leader Ravindra Jugran today called on Principal Secretary Forest RK Sudhanshu at the Secretariat and submitted a complaint regarding illegal constructions, encroachments, tree felling, and unauthorised activities on forest land, greenery and shrub areas. He demanded that the complaint be examined and punitive action taken.

In his letter, Jugran claimed that within a 15‑kilometre radius of Kolhukhet on the Mussoorie National Highway such illegal activities are openly taking place in broad daylight without fear. Taking cognisance of the complaint, the Principal Secretary, Forest, has assigned the matter to the Chief Conservator of Forests, Garhwal, for investigation.

The order has been forwarded to the Chief Conservator of Forests, Garhwal. The letter, concerning illegal encroachments, felling and misuse of forest and grazing land within the Mussoorie Forest Division, has been attached in original. Sudhanshu has directed that the complaint be examined, necessary action taken and the government duly informed of the steps initiated.
