Mussoorie, 27 Sep: An ‘Internal Complaint Committee’ was instituted at St George’s College here, today, to address internal grievances and sensitive issues related to the school. The first meeting was successfully conducted today in the presence of the Chairperson and various members.
The objective of the committee is to implement clear guidelines for reporting and establishing a designated point of contact, ensuring confidentiality, establishing a thorough investigation process, providing counseling and support to the affected parties, reviewing and updating policies to maintain a safe and inclusive environment, encouraging open communication and continuous improvements with regard to such complaints, and submitting a report to appropriate authorities.
The meeting was presided over by Chairperson Juhi Sabharwal, Secretary Diksha Matta, Sister Catherine, Brother Alphonse Tirkey, Susan Kurian, Dr Sneha Panwar, Isha Gupta Vaish, Sarika Dang, Himani Joshi Kumai and Alok Mehrotra.
The committee discussed the POCSO and POSH Acts, with various valuable insights and suggestions being deliberated upon.
The meeting was brought to a close with a concluding prayer and the expression of appreciation for the contribution of the participating members.
At St George’s College, the Child Protection Committee also meets on a regular basis and discusses various matters related to the welfare of the students entrusted to their care.
