Joshimath Brigade holds Rally for Army Veterans & Veer Naris

Dehradun, 24 Nov: Headquarters 9 (Independent) Mountain Brigade Group organised a rally for Army Veterans of Chamoli District at Garhwal Scouts, Joshimath, on 23 November. The event was presided over by Brigadier Mandeep Singh Dhillon. Officials from the District Administration, Chamoli, Zilla Sanik Kalayan Evam Punarvas Karyalaya, Gopeshwar (Chamoli), representatives from Record Office, GRRC Lansdowne, and officials from SBI and PNB were also in attendance.

The Rally was attended by an overwhelming number of Army Veterans, Veer Naris from the Chamoli district. The event was organised to interact with the Veterans and address day to day issues and problems being faced by the ex- servicemen, who have played a stellar role in safeguarding the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Brigadier Mandeep Singh Dhillon said that the aim of the rally was to appreciate the valiant efforts of Army’s Veterans from Garhwal Region in Nation building and also understand and resolve the problems faced by them in the civil society after retirement. He further emphasised that the Joshimath Brigade remains committed to work for the welfare of the Veterans and will provide all possible assistance and support to them.

During the event, Veer Naris and Veterans were honoured. The rally also encompassed Medical Camp, preparation of Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Cards, recruitment information, financial management and special provisions by Banks, latest welfare schemes by the Central/State Governments. The Veterans appreciated the event and desired more such interactions with the Civil Government and Indian Army.
