Dehradun, 13 Jul: BJP leader Ravindra Jugran said today that the alleged theft of offerings and other irregularities at the Shri Badrinath and Kedarnath temples clearly indicate that the existing system requires major reforms and a change in approach to function effectively.
He stated that transparency and integrity in the functioning of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee should begin with a transparent recruitment process for its officers and employees. According to him, all future vacancies for gazetted posts should be filled through the appropriate recruitment commission, while Group ‘C’ posts should be recruited through the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission.
Ravindra Jugran further alleged that the hundreds of officers and employees who are currently serving, or have served, in the Temple Committee were appointed without any proper recruitment process, and that many appointments were influenced by nepotism or other inducements.
He said that reforms in the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee should begin with ensuring a transparent and merit-based selection process for its officers and employees.
Ravindra Jugran also said that he would soon submit a memorandum containing these suggestions to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
