Justice Ravi Malimath to join U’khand HC

DEHRADUN, 19 Feb: The Supreme Court Collegium has proposed the transfer of Justice Ravi Malimath from Karnataka HC to the Uttarakhand HC in Nainital. If and when he joins he will be the 11th Chief Justice of the Nainital High Court. The present Chief Justice is Justice Ramesh Rangnathan. The Collegium has issued a statement intimating its recommendation to transfer Justice Ravi Malimath to the Uttarakhand High Court. The decision was taken pursuant to a meeting held on 12 February. Justice Malimath was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Karnataka in February 2008 and made a permanent judge on February 2010. Born on 25 May, 1962, he enrolled as an Advocate on 28 January, 1987, at Bangalore. He has practiced in Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Labour, Service, mainly at the Karnataka High Court, Bangalore. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Karnataka on 18 February, 2008, and permanent Judge on 17 February, 2010.
