DEHRADUN, 15 Feb: A Kashmiri youth studying here in Shridev Suman Subharti University was suspended today for posting controversial messages on his social media accounts which celebrated yesterday’s terror attack on CRPF Convoy. Kaisher Rashid, not only congratulated those who carried out the terror attack in Pulwama in Jammu & Kashmir yesterday but also called for a party. However, soon after his WhasApp chat on Pulwama attack went viral, large number of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal members gathered in the university campus and demanded immediate arrest of the student after which police force was deployed at the spot.
The University administration then, suspended the student and also demanded a written explanation from him in this regard. Kaishar Rashid, was doing diploma in paramedical studies from Subharti University and belonged to Kashmir.
The student allegedly wrote, ‘aaj to inke sath real PUBG hogaya’ in a WhatsApp group. He had further congratulated those who carried out the attack and called out for a chicken party in celebration. Though soon after this, Rashid deleted his message but by that time many had already taken screen shots of this message and handed over to the varsity administration forcing action against the youth. Rashid was suspended and his entry banned in the University campus. According to the Police sources, the student is absconding. It is also being claimed that Rashid had deleted his messages and also expressed regret over the messages. However, speaking to this correspondent, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakash Pant asserted that the student would not be spared and action would be taken against him under the relevant laws of the land.
