DEHRADUN, 13 Jan: The Kshatriya Chetna Manch celebrated New Year and the festival of Makar Sakaranti with a lot of enthusiasm and festive spirit at the Maharana Pratap Bhawan, Nanurkhera, here, today.
On the occasion, President of the Manch Mohan Singh Chauhan and President, Sankalp Society, Ravi Singh Negi distributed Khichdi and sweets to all present and conveyed best wishes for the New Year and Makar Sakranti to the people of Uttarakhand. The programme was conducted by Shashi Kant Shahi and Mahesh Rauthan.
Central General Secretary of KCM, Ravi Singh Negi said that, according to the Purans, Makar Sakarnti is the festival of alms and charity. On this day, Surya is worshipped and Khichdi, Gur and Til are distributed.
Also present were Devendra Pundir, Shyamji Yadav, Shashi Shahi, Sansar Shahi, Mahesh Rauthan, Surinder Singh Tomar, Budh Singh Rawat, Ashok Vardhan Singh, RCS Bisht, Charan Singh Rawat, Ranjana Rawat, Kamla Chauhan, Anita Negi, etc.
