Ranikhet, 25 Sep: In a tribute to the unwavering service and sacrifice of the nation’s veterans, the Kumaon Regimental Centre, Ranikhet, under the aegis of HQ Central Command, will host a Mega Ex-Servicemen’s Rally on 28 September. The event will take place at Somnath Ground, Ranikhet from 9 a.m. onwards.

The rally aims to serve as a platform for honouring the contributions of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their families. It will also provide an interactive and facilitative environment to address their concerns and resolve issues related to their post-retirement lives.

This year’s rally is expected to attract a large number of veterans from Almora and Bageshwar Districts. The event will feature a comprehensive range of services and assistance booths to address the unique needs of the attendees. Key areas of focus will include:

Pension and Documentation: Dedicated counters will be set up to address pension-related queries, resolve documentation anomalies, and provide assistance with the SPARSH.

Welfare and Grievance Redressal: Representatives from various welfare agencies, including the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO), and others, will be on hand to assist with health, resettlement, and other welfare-related matters.

Medical and Health Services: A fully equipped medical camp, staffed by specialist doctors from the Army and civil hospitals, will be organised to provide free health check-ups, consultations, and necessary medical assistance.

Employment and Resettlement: Stalls will be set up to provide information on job opportunities, skill development programmes, and government schemes for the resettlement of ex-servicemen.

Felicitation Ceremony: A special ceremony will be held to honour and felicitate veterans and Veer Naris, recognising their invaluable service to the nation.

The Indian Armed Forces have an enduring bond with its veterans, and their welfare remains the top priority. This rally would be a testament to the commitment to ensuring that ex-servicemen and their families receive the respect, care and support they so rightly deserve. It is an opportunity to express gratitude and assist them in every possible way.

The event is a joint effort to strengthen the connection between the serving and retired military fraternity and to acknowledge the immense contribution of veterans to nation-building even after their service tenure. The Kumaon Regimental Centre encourages all ex-servicemen and their families to attend and take advantage of the facilities and services being provided.
