Dehradun, 23 Apr: Welham Girls’ School is commemorating its Diamond Jubilee (1957-2019) and is organising the 3rd Welham Girls’ School Diamond Jubilee Invitational Basketball Tournament for girls from 22 to 24 April.
Six schools from various parts of the country are participating in this Tournament apart from two teams from the School. These are Durga Public School, Solan, La Martiniere’s Girls School, Kolkata, LK Singhania Education Centre, Gotan, Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School, Jaipur, Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, Pinegrove School, Solan, Welham Girls’ School – Blue and Welham Girls’ School – White.
In today’s matches, Motilal Nehru School of Sports beat Pinegrove School, 35-12. The highest scorers were MNSS, Tannu Ahlawat and PGS, Srishti Chauhan. In the second match, Durga Public School, Solan, beat Maharani Gaytri Devi Girls’ School, Jaipur, 28 -20. The highest scorers were DPS, Anshika Chauhan and MGD, Arpita Wadhwa.
In the third match, Welham Girls’ School (White) beat Pinegrove School, Solan, 17-16. The highest scorers were WGS-W, Rhea, and PGS, Ruchika. In the fourth match, Welham Girls’ School (Blue) beat LK Singhania Education Centre, Gotan, 46 – 12. The highest scorers were WGS, Mehr and LKS, Nandini.
