Dehradun, 8 Nov: The Siddhpeeth Ma Surkanda Devi Temple ropeway, located in Dhanaulti of Tehri district, will remain closed for two days for devotees. From the point of view of safety, the ropeway will not be operated on 9 and 10 November due to monthly inspection. During this time, the devotees visiting the temple will not be able to take advantage of the ropeway facility.
The length of the ropeway built at a cost of about Rs 5 crores, to reach the Surkanda Devi temple is 502 metres. Its capacity is about 500 persons per hour. Since the beginning of the Surkanda Ropeway service last year, devotees can easily visit the temple in just 5 to 10 minutes from Kaddukhal.
Before the ropeway was built, devotees had to walk one-and-a-half kilometres to reach the temple. After the completion of two days of inspection and check-up, the ropeway will be opened for the devotees.
