DEHRADUN, 17 July: A two day exhibition by the noted artist, Maanas Lal, commenced at a local mall today. Titled ‘Colours of Summer’, the exhibition focuses on summer in the valley of Doon. The exhibition will be on display until 18 July from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibition comprises over twenty paintings made by the young artist. As an eco-friendly initiative, the paintings were displayed on bamboo easels also designed by Maanas. Speaking about his work, Maanas revealed, “Dehradun is one of the few cities in North India which get to enjoy five distinct seasons. While autumn, winter and even monsoons are generally considered favourites of an artist, the summer months are overlooked.” He added, “This exhibition is an effort to bring out the beauty in the scorching yet beautiful Dehradun summer. The paintings explore a wide variety of techniques in acrylic and feature a mix of abstraction and realism.”
