Dehradun 12 Jul: BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt today expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the entire team of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Drafting Committee on behalf of the people of the state for making the entire draft of the UCC public. It may be recalled that today the members of UCC Drafting Committee led by former IAS officer Shatrughna Singh formally released the volume 2 and 4 of the Draft Report for the general public. Bhatt was reacting to this event.
At the same time, Bhatt also advised the Congress to read the UCC draft instead of spreading rumours about it without reading it or else the public will soon clear the misunderstanding in the Congress.
BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt said that the time has come for the mandate of the people of Devbhoomi regarding Uniform Civil Code to be implemented in the state. He also advised the Congress to clear its doubts by reading the draft, otherwise the public will clear its dilemma in the next elections again.
Bhatt reminded that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has already made it clear that from the month of October onwards, the UCC will be enforced in the state. Expressing gratitude to CM Dhami for his bold step to bring in UCC in Uttarakhand, Bhatt asserted that with the implementation of UCC, the pride of Uttarakhand will also go up. Another major promise made by BJP to the people during the 2022 elections has been fulfilled.
Bhatt expressed hope that after the complete draft is released, the misconceptions and rumours being spread about this law will come to an end. The public will get actual information about the new legal provisions affecting the circumstances around them through the website, which is a good step. He also quipped that Congress leaders should also study the draft carefully and clear unnecessary doubts from their minds.
