Dehradun, 24 Apr: Uttarakhand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly endorsed the ‘decisive’ steps taken by the government against Pakistan following the recent terrorist attack. State Party President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt today stated that the people of Uttarakhand and the nation stand firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in every action against terrorists and their sponsors. In a statement issued today, the BJP leader asserted that the measures now being implemented will permanently weaken the adversaries of the country.
In his interaction with the media, Bhatt expressed the party’s full support for the initial actions taken by the Government of India in response to the heinous and inhumane terrorist attack. He reminded that these measures include the cancellation of the Indus Water Treaty, the closure of the Attari-Wagah border and revocation of visas issued to Pakistani nationals, among others. He remarked that the cowardly act of terrorism has ignited immense anguish among the citizens, and the incident, which has disgraced humanity, marks a new low for Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
Bhatt highlighted that, since the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, Jammu & Kashmir has been steadily progressing and has witnessed a rapid development that has unsettled the nation’s enemies, particularly Pakistan. He accused Pakistan, a nation grappling with bankruptcy due to its own actions, of attempting to derail the region’s growth and prosperity.
Referring to the Balakot and surgical strikes, Bhatt noted that the enemies of the nation had realised that India has transformed in a big way under the current leadership. He emphasised that the Modi government has consistently responded to such provocations with ‘resolute’ actions. He described the recent attack as a desperate attempt by Pakistan, which, he claimed, will culminate in its complete downfall.
Bhatt asserted that the PM would take the strictest measures, fully in alignment with the nation’s honour, security, self-respect and the public sentiments and expectations. He expressed confidence that these actions will decisively dismantle terrorism and its sponsors, ensuring lasting peace and security for the country.
