‘Manor Fest’ Inter-House Cultural Extravaganza concludes at SGC

Dehradun, 12 May: The events on the second day of the three-day Manor Fest at St George’s College, here, included Quiz, Orchestra, English Story Telling, Indian Solo, Declamation, Western Solo, Extempore and Choral Recitation.

The literary events in English were judged by Nirmala Musa from Mussoorie Public School; Shruti Sharma from Wynberg Allen School; Deepti from Oak Grove School and Mike William from Hampton Court.

The events scheduled for today included Rangoli, Hindi Story Telling, Kavya Paath, Dastangoi, Mime and Choreography.

The literary events in Hindi were judged by Uma Deopa from Nirmala Inter-College, Sarojini Baloni from Nirmala Inter-College and Sudhir Nautiyal from Oak Grove School.

The judges for Mime and Choreography comprised Simran Arora, Minal Vashisht, Mohit Mamgain and Kartikey Barthwal.

The Closing Ceremony of the Annual Inter-House Cultural Extravaganza marked the culmination of the three-day cultural fest.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Padma Shri Awardee and renowned Uttarakhand folk singer Pritam Bhartwan. Congratulating the winners as well as all the participants, Bhartwan appreciated the exposure given to the students in the field of music, dance and other forms of art. He said that music connects us with the richness of culture and deepens the spirit of unity and brotherhood. Bhartwan inspired the students to be persons of resolute purpose and vision. He also presented a melodious Garhwali folk song.

While the results were being tabulated, one of the judges for Choreography, Mohit Mamgain, delighted the audience with a scintillating performance.

Pritam Bhartwan and Principal Brother Ramesh Amalanathan did the honours of felicitating the winners.

The Manor Fest Championship Trophy for the year 2023 was presented to Tapsell’s House. Marthins’ House was presented the Runner-up Trophy.

The individual champions in the various divisions were Mehtej S Sahani of division 1, Marthins’ House; Jordan Kee of division 2, Marthins’ House; Vinamra Mehra of division 3, Tapsell’s House, and Rudrartha Rana of division 4, Tapsell’s House.

The house positions were as follows: Tapsell’s House – 443 points, Marthins’ House – 426 points, Gateley’s House – 420 points and Cullens’ House – 303 points.

Principal Brother Ramesh Amalanathan presented Pritam Bhartwan with a memento as a token of gratitude and appreciation.
