DEHRADUN, 3 May: BJP’s state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan on Saturday described the shocking incident of rape of a minor in Nainital as sad, unfortunate and disgusting. He supported the strict action being taken by the Dhami government. He also advised the Congress not to look at serious matters such as this one through political lens.
Chauhan said that people are angry with the Nainital incident and the Congress is looking at it from a political perspective. He asserted that whether it is a person from a particular community or someone else, he can’t given any exemption for such audacity. Criminal cases or any issue should stay away from the purview of political appeasement. The law is doing its job well and Chief Minister Dhami has instructed the investigating agencies to work under the policy of zero tolerance.
Calling the allegations of the Leader of Opposition baseless, Chauhan said that the law and order prevail in the state and not only are the incidents being investigated, but action is also being taken on all of them. He said that in all the cases that have come to light so far, the accused are behind bars. At the same time, strict action has been taken against criminals from other states who are trying to make Uttarakhand a safe haven. Now hearings are also being held and the victims are also getting justice.
Chauhan claimed the attitude of the Congress in such cases has always been negative and whatever steps the government took for the peace and cultural protection of the state, it is always seen in opposition. When the government made a law for love jihad and land jihad in the state, the Congress kept spreading propaganda against it by calling it against a particular community. Whereas the figures are witness that most of the cases of love jihad and land jihad have come to light related to a particular community. The BJP has also brought the UCC keeping women’s safety in mind. At the same time, a strict land law has been brought to put a stop to the attempts to change the demography. At the same time, the campaign against illegal madrasas and mazars is going on.
Congress has objections to all such decisions, because it is ready to do anything for vote bank and appeasement, Chauhan alleged. The BJP leader also claimed that the Dhami government is committed to the safety of women and daughters in the state formed due to women power. The entire BJP family and Uttarakhand are with the victim daughter in Nainital. The culprits will be brought under the purview of law and given strict punishment in any case.
