Pauri Garhwal, 19 Mar: Former Chairman of the State Cooperative Federation, Matwar Singh Rawat, has strongly criticized Congress leader Ganesh Godiyal, stating that he has lost his mental balance after facing repeated electoral defeats. Rawat pointed out that the people have outrightly rejected Godiyal twice in assembly elections and once in a parliamentary election. Now, even within his own party, he is facing setbacks.
Rawat claimed that this frustration is evident in Godiyal’s baseless statements and blatant lies. He suggested that before making any comments, Godiyal should have complete knowledge of the subject, as his remarks indicate a lack of understanding.
Regarding the Lakh company, which allegedly defrauded investors in the name of investments, Rawat clarified that the company is indeed guilty of misleading and scamming people, and the police are investigating the matter. He expressed sympathy for the victims but stated that the cooperative department and ministry have no connection to the scam. Accusing the cooperative department and ministry is a desperate attempt by Godiyal to tarnish others’ reputations for personal gain.
Rawat further stated that the Registrar of Cooperatives has warned against spreading misinformation and damaging reputations, with the possibility of defamation cases being filed against those making baseless allegations.
He asserted that since being rejected by voters in both assembly and parliamentary elections, Godiyal has lost composure and frequently makes reckless statements for selfish motives.
Rawat urged the Congress party to rein in its outspoken leader, as his repeated blunders and irresponsible behavior have already damaged his credibility.
