New Delhi, 10 Dec: The 142nd Birth Anniversary of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar was celebrated at Tasmia Auditorium, Jamia, here, today. On the occasion Corona warriors were also felicitated.
Chief Guest Dr S Farooq said that the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for freedom of India needed to be remembered. He recalled that Mohammad Ali attended the first Round Table Conference held in London in 1930.
Dr Khwaja M Shahid presided over the programme. He said that Mohammad Ali was born in 1878 in Rampur, Rampur State. He served as education director for the Rampur State and, later, joined the Baroda Civil Service. He was one of the co-founders of the Jamia Millia Islamia in 1920.
Special Invitee SM Asif also expressed his views on the occasion.
