Dehradun, 25 Jan: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented the ‘Governor’s Appreciation Letters-2023’ to the soldiers and officers of the military and paramilitary deployed in Uttarakhand, for their commendable work at a function held at the Raj Bhavan Auditorium here today. Commander KK Victor Paul of the National Hydrographic Office, Dehradun, Principal Civil Water Survey Officer RJ Kushwaha and NHO’s Sanjit Kumar were among those who were awarded the Appreciation Letters by the Governor and the CM.
In addition, Assistant Commandant, 8th Battalion, ITBP, Seemadwar, Dr Vishal Chowdhary, Inspector Yudhveer Singh and Constable Krishna Negi from ITBP and Major Sangeeta and Pioneer Deepa Pathak, Senior Medical Officers from BRO were awarded with citations. Apart from this, ‘Governor’s Citation-2023’ was awarded to the National Hydrographic Office, Dehradun.
On this occasion, the Governor said that the soldiers of military/paramilitary forces deployed in Uttarakhand had been honoured for their excellent work. Jawans and officers had shown their dedication to the country and the state even during adverse circumstances. The Governor said that the brave women power of BRO is an excellent example of the right to equality given to men and women under the Constitution of India. They were discharging their responsibilities well in difficult geographical conditions and difficult areas. At the same time, ITBP jawans and officers play an important role in protecting the borders of the country as well as in saving the lives of people in natural calamities. Even in difficult geographical conditions, these jawans had performed their tasks with full alertness.
Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu, Chief Hydrographer Vice Admiral Adhir Arora, Joint Chief Hydrographer Rear Admiral Lochan Singh Pathania, GOC Sub Area Major General Sanjeev Khatri, ADG NCC, Dehradun, PS Dahiya, Secretary to Governor Dr Ranjit Sinha, senior officers of NHO, ITBP and BRO were present on this occasion.
