Minister Joshi inspects road near Bijapur Dam, orders protective measures

Dehradun, 9 Jul: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi on Thursday conducted a site inspection of the approach road in the Ghatti Gola area of Garhi Cantt, Dehradun, along with district administration officials to review the preparedness and arrangements in view of the ongoing monsoon. During the visit, he assessed the prevailing conditions and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials.

During the inspection, the Cabinet Minister stressed that residents should not face any inconvenience in commuting during the monsoon and that all necessary measures must be taken to ensure their safety from potential hazards. He directed the officials to immediately commence the construction of a protective retaining wall along the rain-fed river and to undertake the installation of protective netting or the construction of a breast wall along the motor road to prevent soil erosion caused by heavy rainfall.

He instructed that all protective works be carried out on a priority basis to avert any untoward incidents during the rainy season. The Minister also directed the officials to maintain continuous monitoring of the area and ensure prompt action whenever required.

Additional District Magistrate KK Mishra, officials from the Irrigation and Public Works Departments, BJP leaders Laxman Singh Rawat and Jagdish Regmi, Mandal General Secretary Kiran, Gram Pradhan Bharti Jawadi, Kedar Joshi, Neetu Singh, Samundar Singh, Sapna Mall, and other local representatives were present during the inspection.
