Dehradun, 14 Dec: Member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttarakhand, Dr Naresh Bansal, participated in the parliamentary discussion on the “Repealing and Amending Bill 2023”.

He stated that, under the effective leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has been tirelessly working to transform the minimal government and maximum governance mantra into a reality. Initiatives against the mentality of servitude have been launched, aiming to remove and replace obsolete systems. Dr Bansal praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for leading cleanliness campaigns and bringing efficiency and good governance to every sector.

Dr Bansal emphasised that laws crafted during the British era are now irrelevant and were intended to oppress Indians, a situation that should have changed after independence. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the initiative to remove outdated laws, be it Article 370, implement One Rank One Pension, New Education Policy, or the abolition of Triple Talaq. A total of 1486 laws, deemed burdensome and harsh for the public, were repealed based on the recommendations of a two-member committee.

The purpose of repealing laws is to improve the quality of living for citizens. He supported the bill presented by the Law Minister, asserting that the government intervention should be minimal in every sector, ensuring citizens reap the full benefits. He also highlighted the government’s success in shutting down foreign-funded NGOs that posed a threat to the nation. The Modi government is actively working towards overall improvement in every sector.

Recent days have witnessed the Modi government’s actions to repeal the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC), Indian Penal Code (IPC), and the Evidence Act, tailoring them according to the needs of citizens. Dr Naresh Bansal affirmed that Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to developing the country will be realised over the next 25 years, with ongoing efforts ensuring a prosperous India.
