MUSSOORIE, 10 Jun: Mussoorie Congress President Gaurav Aggarwal said at a press conference held at a local hotel, today, that the state government remained unconcerned about the health facilities in the town. He alleged there was no preparation by the Health Department to deal with the corona infection. The only government hospital in Mussoorie did not have a single ventilator.
He reminded that the Health Ministry is with the Chief Minister, even then the condition of health services are in a bad condition. He said that under Unlock-1, the movement of people in the country has been fully opened. Corona infection was spreading in other states, including Delhi, and in such a situation, the health state of tourists coming to Mussoorie would be unknown. He said that, in the past, the administration, municipality and police maintained a check at the entry points of Mussoorie, but it was no longer to be seen. He said that, if even a single person got corona infected in Mussoorie, in a short time it would spread rapidly.
He made serious allegations against Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi that no work was being done by him on protecting Mussoorie from Corona infection. There was a hospital in Mussoorie but facilities were negligible. He demanded swift government steps in this regard. He urged the government and the administration to ban entry of people from outside. He warned that should there be no concrete decision within 5 days, the Mussoorie Congress Committee would launch a fierce agitation against the government by holding a chakka jam at entry point Kholukhet. He said business was the second priority. He also wanted the government to announce a relief package for all classes affected by the lockdown. He said the state government was adopting double standards regarding Covid-19, with VIPs being given special exemption.
Vinod Semwal and Amit Kaintura were present on the occasion.
