Mussoorie, 25 Sep: The first Landour Literature and Arts Festival brings the opportunity to experience the serenity of the mountains, the rustle of the pine forests, and the fragrance of literature all at once. This unique festival will be held on 28 September 28 from 12 noon to 9 p.m., at Landour’s famous Cafe Ivy (Bunny Pearl), near the Deodar Woods Hotel, Sister Bazaar.

The festival is being jointly organised by The Chakkar and the Mussoorie Heritage Centre. The aim is to connect people through literature, history, art, music, poetry, and cinema, and to strengthen the spirit of relief and solidarity after natural disasters. The list of speakers and artists participating in this Literature and Arts Festival is truly inspiring. Some are locals, some have made Landour and Mussoorie their second home, while others will be visiting for the first time to experience the creative energy of this hill station. These include Ganesh Saili (writer, historian), Narayani Basu (writer and biographer), Amit Ranjan, Anil Raturi, Siddharth Kapila, AM Gautam, Sanyukta Sharma, Shikha Saklani Malviya, Desna Sharma, Stere Sharma, Shubhdarshini Singh, Kunal Narayan Uniyal, and Pratik Santram. Along with the event’s coordinators, Surabhi Agarwal and Karan Madhok, will also participate in discussion sessions. A special poetry and painting competition will also be held during the festival for children aged 10 to 16. The theme of this competition will be “The Deodar Tree”. This is not only an effort to bring children closer to nature, but also a wonderful opportunity to provide a platform for their creativity.
