Five Committees constituted for holding of National Games in U’khand

By Our Staff Reporter

Dehradun, 6 Nov: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has finalised the dates for the 38th National Games to be held in Uttarakhand. This information was communicated to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami through a letter by the IOA. The IOA has also set up five different committees to ensure the event’s success.

It may be recalled that during his visit to Delhi last month, the Chief Minister had met President of the Association, Dr PT Usha, and requested her for the announcement of the National Games dates. Dr Usha has approved the dates proposed by the state government and now these dates have been formally announced. The 38th National Games will be held from 28 January to 14 February next year.

Five committees have been formed to ensure the event’s success. These include the Games Technical Conduct Committee to be chaired by Sunaina, the NSF/SOA Coordination Committee to be chaired by Madhukant Pathak, the Protocol Committee to be chaired by Vithal Shirgonkar, the Safeguarding Committee to chaired by Suman Kaushik, and the Prevention of Manipulation of Competition Committee to be chaired by senior IAS officer RK Sudhanshu.

Commenting on the development, CM Dhami expressed confidence that the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand will be highly successful and historic. He asserted that Uttarakhand is fully prepared for this National Games. The state government will leave no stone unturned to make this event memorable. Based on the experiences of states that previously hosted the National Games, Uttarakhand will organise the event in an even better manner. The government’s effort will be to make the National Games in Uttarakhand the best ever.
