DEHRADUN, 26 Sep: Addressing the gathering at a function held under the Nanda Gaura scheme at the CM’s Residence, and paying tribute to the late Ankita Bhandari, Chief Minister Dhami said that the government stands with the bereaved family members in this hour of grief. He said that such incidents happening to the daughters of the state were naturally creating anger in the minds of the people but the government would make sure that those guilty are not spared at any cost. The people involved in crimes against women and girls had no place in society and the state.

He added that an SIT had been constituted for speedy investigation of this case and action would be taken through fast-track court for speedy punishment of the guilty.

Chief Minister Dhami added that the honour of daughters is the honour of the government. Insulting the daughters of the state was an insult to the government. The heinous crime against Ankita Bhandari would be investigated speedily and impartially and the strictest action would be taken against the culprits. The punishment and speedy delivery of justice would be exemplary in order to dissuade other criminals from such heinous acts.
