Online Interact Meet cum Exhibition held on Exploration of Forestry based technologies & products

Dehradun, 25 Nov: Awareness programmes like interact-meets and exhibitions are effective media for farmers, wood based industries, Non Government Organisations (NGOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs) and entrepreneurs. They obtain know-how on technologies, products and their utilisation with marketing linkages. In accordance with this concept, Extension Division of Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, organised an online Interact Meet cum Exhibition on “Exploration of forestry based technologies and products” here, today, in which FRI scientists and entrepreneurs shared information on various technologies related with raw material, processing and formulation of products. Other stakeholders like farmers, Government and Non Government Organisations, Self Help Groups were also linked with the event.
Dr Charan Singh, Scientist and Head Extension Division welcomed all the participants and invited Arun Singh Rawat, Director General, Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education, and Director, Forest Research Institute, to inaugurate the meet. Arun Singh Rawat said that the event would certainly bring the institution and stakeholders on a common platform to explore the scientific interventions of the institute among different stakeholders and mutual sharing of processing and utilisation of forestry based products with marketing linkages. He mentioned that the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education is taking the initiative for establishing Technology Demonstration Centres in its institutes working in different parts of the country for dissemination of technologies and products developed by them.
During the technical session, Scientists of Forest Research Institute, Dr Amit Pandey, Dr Ashok Kumar, DP Khali and Dr Ajay Kumar expressed their views and shared the knowledge on technologies. Entrepreneurs Ajay Kumar Saini, Anil Chandola, Natthu Hussain and Keshav Sharma expressed their views and demonstrated their products online through power point presentations.
The anchoring of the programme was done by Dr Charan Singh, Scientist & Head, Extension Division. The vote of thanks was delivered by Rambir Singh, Scientist of Extension Division. Dr Devendra Kumar, Scientist, Vijay Kumar, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Priti Pal Singh, Deputy Ranger, with the supporting team including Poonam Pant, Section Officer, Ramesh Singh, Assistant, helped make the programme a successful one.
