Haridwar, 12 Aug: In the presence of Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, Patanjali Yogpeeth Haridwar initiated a five-day ‘Intellectual Yoga Science Camp’ for intellectuals from Nepal. The participants from Nepal began their day with a yajna and yoga session with Swami Ramdev. Following this, at the Patanjali University auditorium, Swami Ramdev inaugurated the intellectual session with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. He emphasised the unity in Patanjali Yogpeeth’s mission involving yoga, Ayurveda, indigenous practices, education, medicine, character building, and nation-building. He remarked that although India and Nepal are separate political entities, their cultural heritage, ancestors, principles, and destinies bring them closer. Swami Ramdev stated that a sanyasi is a global citizen and expressed his desire for Nepal’s development just as he desires for India’s. He noted that Nepal is in a transformative phase that requires significant changes in social, religious, political, educational, medical, and self-reliance sectors. He encouraged the Nepalese to foster self-reliance, valour, and determination to elevate Nepal to one of the world’s top nations within the next 20-25 years. This requires a strong resolve and a comprehensive plan for implementation, alongside continuous effort and dedication. Acharya Balkrishna addressed the gathering, highlighting that, while Nepal and India are politically sovereign nations with distinct borders and constitutions, culturally, socially, and spiritually, they are indivisible. The relationship has been longstanding and will remain so. He emphasised that Nepal’s development and prosperity are the responsibilities of its own people. By embracing nationalism and working diligently, Nepal can progress well. Acharya Balkrishna called on the attendees to work systematically with Patanjali’s support and Swami Ramdev’s blessings for Nepal’s prosperity. He invited them to reflect on how they can contribute effectively to Nepal’s development.

During the evening session, the Nepalese scholars observed the medical services of the world-class Yoga Gram, and activities related to the Patanjali Rural Industry, including the cow shelters and organic farming initiatives. Rakesh ‘Bharat’, Chief Central In-Charge of Patanjali Yog Samiti, provided a detailed introduction to Patanjali Yogpeeth and its various service-oriented activities and future plans. Dr Vedapriya, Head of Patanjali Herbal Research Division, discussed the institutional strengths for Nepal’s development.
