Dehradun, 11 Nov: The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has launched the Nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 3.0 to run from 1 to 30 November. The campaign spans 800 cities/districts across India, embodying a “Whole of Government” approach by bringing multiple stakeholders together.
To enhance the “Ease of Living” for Central Government pensioners, DLC submission using Face Authentication was introduced in 2021. This technology allows pensioners to submit life certificates using any Android smartphone, reducing the need for external biometric devices and making the process more accessible and affordable.
The 2022 campaign generated over 1.41 crore DLCs, with 42 lakh submissions from Central Government pensioners. The 2023 campaign, conducted at 100 locations, resulted in over 1.47 crore DLCs, with 45 lakh from Central Government pensioners.
This year’s campaign, organised in collaboration with Banks, India Post Payments Bank, Pensioners’ Associations, UIDAI, MeitY, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Railways and DoT, aims to ensure that pensioners, especially super seniors and incapacitated individuals, can easily submit their life certificates. Camps have been set up nationwide, and staff equipped with smartphones will assist pensioners in branches. Special provisions include home visits for bed-ridden pensioners.
The campaign is promoted through social media and on-site banners, and progress will be closely monitored to ensure maximum participation.
In Dehradun, camps were held at five branches of State Bank of India in the city, viz., IMA, Birpur, Saharanpur Road, Defence Colony, and IIP Township. India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) is also organising camps at all post offices in the district of Dehradun on schedule dates.
Samin Ansari, Under Secretary from DoPPW, and Ashwani Kumar, Deputy Director UIDAI, RO DELHI along with a team of Officers from SBI branches with the help of Pensioners’ Association generated DLC for the pensioners and educated them about the process today. Wide publicity was given to these camps and all efforts were put in to make the camp a grand success.
