Dehradun, 9 May: The Roorkee Railway Station Superintendent has received a letter threatening to blow up Haridwar, Doon, Bareilly and Moradabad Railway stations. The Police have begun their inquiry in this regard and gone on high alert following the threat.
According to sources, the threat letter also mentions the dates of explosions. It allegedly claims that on 21 May, Railway Stations of Haridwar, Dehradun, Moradabad and Bareilly would be blown up, while on 23 May, the Uttarakhand CM’s residence, Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar and some other religious places would also be blown up.
Sources further state that the sender of the letter has claimed that he is Salim Ansari, Area Commander of the terrorist organisation, Jaish-e-Mohammed. The Police and other enforcement agencies have been put on high alert after receiving the letter. Officially, however, the contents of the letter have not been made public by the Police and the Intelligence Bureau of Government of India, which have started investigation into the threat. Security around the railway stations and religious places as well as residence of the CM has been beefed up and constant checking has begun with the help of dog squads.
