Dehradun, 7 May: Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth has shared that the state police force have been placed on a high alert in the wake of Operation Sindoor. Seth added that a strict surveillance has been enforced at sensitive establishments, religious sites, and inter-state borders. A statewide verification drive is also underway to ensure security preparedness.
The DGP further asserted that in view of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra, the state police, PAC, SDRF, ATS Guldar, and central paramilitary forces have been deployed at strategic locations to maintain law and order. Special instructions have been issued to increase vigilance along the India-Nepal border, with joint patrolling intensified in coordination with SSB.
He added that the authorities are closely monitoring social media to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumours. He also urged citizens to exercise restraint and responsibility while sharing posts online. Strict action will be taken against those spreading false information or inciting panic.
