President inaugurates virtual tour of Dehradun Raj Bhavan

Dehradun, 24 April: President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the virtual tour of Raj Bhavan, Dehradun, on Wednesday. Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) was also present on the occasion.

Through this virtual tour of Raj Bhavan, people will be able to see the Bonsai Garden, Nakshatra Vatika, Rajprajneshwar Mahadev Temple, Raj Bhavan Arogyadham, Rajlaxmi Gaushala and Library located in the campus. This virtual tour will provide an opportunity to the viewers to connect with the diverse and beautiful natural views of the Raj Bhavan.

The virtual tour has been prepared by the Raj Bhavan in collaboration with UPES, which can be seen by visiting the Raj Bhavan website governoruk.gov.in.

In a video message in the virtual tour, Lt General Singh says, “Raj Bhavan Dehradun is a historic place as well as famous for its attractive architecture and beautiful gardens. The peaceful and serene atmosphere here will impress the visitors immensely. The present time is the time of technology and modernity. A new revolution has started in the whole world through AI. We should also keep moving with the pace of time. Keeping this in mind, we are doing various new experiments through AI in the Raj Bhavan. This virtual tour is one of these efforts. We want that all the country and the people of the state can connect themselves with the glorious heritage of Raj Bhavan Dehradun and our innovative experiments and also share their experiences.”

During the programme, the Governor also presented the President with a coffee table book, “Advancing on the path of duty… 30 months of service in Devbhoomi” based on his 30-month (2.5 years) tenure. This coffee table book contains information and photographs of important programmes related to the Governor’s tenure.

President Droupadi Murmu earlier visited the Rajprajneshwar Mahadev temple in Raj Bhavan and prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the country and the state.

On this occasion, First Lady Gurmeet Kaur, Secretary to the Governor Ravinath Raman, Additional Secretary Swati S Bhadoria, Vice Chancellor of UPES Prof Shriram Sharma, Joint Director, Information, Dr Nitin Upadhyay, Senior Programmer Virendra Singh Pundir, Prof Pankaj Badoni, etc., were also present.
