Durg (Chhattisgarh), 24 Apr: BJP star campaigner and Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, while greeting people on Panchayati Raj Day, called upon the people of Durg Lok Sabha constituency of Chhattisgarh to make the BJP candidate victorious. He said that under the Modi government at the Centre and the BJP-led government in the state, the country and the state are developing in all aspects. The country is making its mark in the world.
“We all have to work together to make all the schemes of the double engine government of the Centre and the State reach as many people as possible and connect the last person of society with the stream of development,” he declared.
While addressing a huge election rally in Saja in support of BJP candidate Vijay Baghel from Chhattisgarh’s Durg Lok Sabha constituency on Wednesday, Maharaj said that the Modi government at the Centre took Chhattisgarh out of the category of bimaru state and worked to provide food and vaccine to the poor during Covid. The central government provided new water connections to 1,93,321 out of 3,39,471 houses in Durg parliamentary constituency under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Under the PM Kisan Yojana, 2,90,076 farmers were paid Rs 176.11 crore through various instalments. While the Modi government at the Centre has done many works in the direction of economic prosperity, infrastructure connectivity and social welfare in the state, the BJP government of the state took along people from all sections of the state including Sahu, Kurmi, Satnami and other communities and got buildings constructed for them.
Referring to the work being done by the state government for the empowerment of panchayats in Uttarakhand, he said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, it has been resolved to hand over all the 29 subjects mentioned in the 11th Schedule of the Constitution of India to the Panchayati Raj Institutions. Management of funds, personnel and functions for the localisation of sustainable development goals and appropriate solution of local challenges will be the result.
He said that while, on the one hand, the Ganga of development is flowing in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, on the other hand, India has become the fifth largest economic power in the world. Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir in one stroke. Along with the construction of the grand Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, the flag of Sanatan Dharma is flying high in the world.
On this occasion, BJP candidate from Durg Lok Sabha constituency Vijay Baghel, Saja MLA Ishwar Sahu, former MP Chandulal Sahu, Awadhesh Chandel, Sambalaram, Nathmal Kothari, Preetpal and many BJP workers were also present.
