DEHRADUN, 27 July: Eklavya Theatre Dehradun’s presentation ‘Qismat Palace’ was a power packed play held on Sunday evening at the Himalayan Cultural Centre, Neembuwala.
Renowned actor Aman Verma was the star attraction but Doon’s local talent was no less. Akhilesh Narain, Jagriti Kothari and Brijesh Narain were brilliant too. All performances were superlative. The play was directed by Akhilesh Narain. The set design and lights were well done.
The play Qismat Palace was a Hindi adaptation of one of James Hadley Chase’s stories ‘There’s Always A Price Tag’: After his boss, Jai Singh, commits suicide, Subhash, a chauffeur, hatches a plan to win his insurance money. He teams up with Jai’s wife, Mallika, to make the suicide look like a well-planned murder.
The cast includes Jagriti Kothari as Mallika; Brijesh Narain as Adenwala; Adesh Narain as Gokhle; Aman Verma as Merchant; Supriya Mallick as Swati; Akhilesh Narain as Subhash; and Nitika Agarwal as Savita.

The play was co-produced by Nitika Agarwal, Jagriti Kothari, and Sumit Garg.
The event was hosted by Khushi Chellani & Sandeep Sharma from Saharanpur.

Philanthropist Dr S Farooq was the Chief Guest.
Sandeep Gupta, Founder Director of Doon Defence Academy and its students; students of Doon International School were also present in large number.
Theatre stalwart Dr Laxmi Narain’s autobiographical book ‘Main Aur Meri Patni’ was also launched on the occasion by Dr Farooq, and other eminent guests.
