Dehradun, 9 Jul: The district administration’s Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been actively addressing waterlogging issues during the ongoing monsoon season. A QRT promptly responded to a waterlogging situation at Prince Chowk, swiftly resolving the cause of the accumulation.

It may be recalled that District Magistrate Savin Bansal had constituted these Quick Response Teams to mitigate waterlogging problems in municipal areas during the monsoon period. The teams are headed by City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Harigiri, and SDM Kumkum Joshi, and they also include officials from allied departments.

The DM has issued strict instructions to the QRTs, tasking them with inspecting waterlogged areas, identifying problems, and taking immediate action to find solutions. This proactive approach aims to prevent any inconvenience to the general public due to waterlogging.

Bansal has also directed all officers nominated to the QRTs to take immediate action if any drainage obstruction or choking is found in their respective allotted areas during the monsoon. They are further instructed to physically verify the cleanliness of drains and sewers in the identified waterlogging-prone areas.
